Golden Lotus/Song Of The Morning Dam Failure
Michigan DNR has released several reports from their investigation into
the 2008 release of water and sediment from the dam at Song Of The
Morning Ranch. These reports can be viewed
here.
2009 Annual Meeting
The 2009 Annual meeting will take place Sunday, July 12, at
the Pigeon River headquarters on Twin Lakes Road. A light lunch will be
served at noon, and the meeting will begin at one pm.
Please note that Sturgeon Valley Road at the Pigeon River
will be closed for construction, so an alternate route may be necessary.

In Memoriam
Jerry Myers, 1918 - 2009
Jerry was a long time DNR employee and a founding member of the Pigeon River Country Association during the oil and gas drilling disputes in the 1970's. He was a genuinely kind man devoted to the protection of the forest, and his wisdom and experience will be sadly missed. The Pigeon is a much better place thanks to Jerry's unflagging work on its' behalf.
