Pigeon River Country Association Membership

Membership in the Pigeon River Country Association (PRCA) is a great way to support the protection and conservation of the Pigeon River Country Forest. The PRCA is an all volunteer organization that was founded in the 1970's when the forest was under threat from extensive proposed oil & gas well development that would have irreparably harmed the wild and natural character of the forest for decades to come. The PRCA fought this threat through mobilizing public support against this assault against the woods, streams and wildlife of the forest, and through a landmark court case limiting oil and gas development in the forest.
Through the years, we've continued to work to protect the forest, advocating on it's behalf, funding interns to work with the forest manager, working on stream erosion projects, and more.
Unfortunately, with all the development pressure northern Michigan is facing - both sprawl from population growth and renewed pressure from the oil & gas sector - the Pigeon River Forest is under more pressure than at any time since the 1970's. Your support is needed now more than any time since then.
The PRCA is an all volunteer organization. All your money goes to supporting our work. We need your support, and hope you will consider joining the Pigeon River Country Association. We'd like to think the main benefit of membership is knowing you're supporting fighting the good fight, but you'll also receive several newsletters a year updating you on what the Association is doing, issues affecting the forest, notices of meetings, etc. And of course, the opportunity to get more hands on involved yourself, if you're able and willing!
The PRCA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so your contribution is tax deductible as allowed by law.

We use Google Checkout, a free online payment system. It requires you to have a Google account, which is free and only takes a minute or two to create if you don't have one. When you create your account, please make sure to include your name & address, so we can send you newsletters & other updates.

Thanks for your support.
